The California Budget Conference Committee approved a three percent independent contractor withholding provision, which would drastically affect each and every direct sellers business. If approved, the proposal would require your direct selling company to withhold three percent of any money you may have earned and remit this amount to the state.

Each company is voicing its strong objection to the withholding provision but we need your help. It is you, the resident and the independent distributor of California, who can make the biggest impact on the Legislature and the decisions that affect every small business owner in the state of California.

We urge you to contact Governor Schwarzenegger and your Assembly member and Senator in the California Legislature immediately to express your concerns. They may not know how an independent contractor withholding proposal would harm your business.
